Recover privately.
On your own terms.
Structured, self-paced programs for adults working through eating-disorder recovery.
Built with eating-disorder professionals. For medically stable adults, alongside appropriate professional care.
Written material and exercises, worked through in private. Not therapy, not treatment, not a substitute for medical care.
The voice in your head is not always yours
Long before food became complicated, you learned things about bodies, worth, control, need, appetite, perfection, and what it took to be acceptable. Some of it was said directly. Most of it was absorbed.
Eventually they stop sounding like messages. They sound like you.
The rules they produce stop feeling like rules and start feeling like facts — and you cannot argue with a fact.
Overcome is built to separate what you inherited from what you actually believe, and to build a relationship with food, your body and yourself that is increasingly authored by you.

- 01Inherited rulesWhat you were told, and what you absorbed
- 02SeparationLearning which of it was ever yours
- 03GriefWhat it cost, and what you are letting go of
- 04IntegrationLiving without the structure it gave you
- 05Your own voiceA relationship with food you authored
That is the model, and we publish it in full. How you actually move through each stage — the exercises, the sequencing, the questions, what to do when you get stuck — is the program itself.
Two programs. Pick the one that is yours.
Two separately written programs, each for a different condition. Read whichever describes your days — each page sets out its own method, curriculum and eligibility in full.

Overcome Anorexia™
Adults 18+Discharged as recovered, or never treated at all. Your labs are fine and you are still deciding what you are allowed to eat today.

Overcome Binge Eating™
Adults 18+The day is fine until it is not. You have started again on Monday more times than you can count, and every plan asks for more control.
What it works on: Explore the programNo referral. No waiting list. No one to tell.
Shared philosophy. Separate programs.
Restriction and bingeing are distinct conditions with distinct evidence bases, and we do not treat them as one thing with two faces. What they share here is a philosophy. Everything below that is built separately.
What both programs share
- The work is on the rules, not on the food
- Self-administered, at your pace, in private
- No weight, calories, macros or photographs, anywhere
- Written to run alongside professional care, never instead of it
- The whole method published before you pay
What is built separately for each
- The theory of change
- The curriculum and its order
- Every exercise and worksheet
- The clinical reviewers who sign it off
- Eligibility and safety criteria
If you have been at both ends — and many people have — start with the one that matches most days. You are not locked in.
Why this exists.
Every person who worked on this had it. We built the thing we needed and could not find.
Four reasons this does something the others do not.
It works on the rules, not the food
A meal plan tells you what to eat. It does not touch the rules you are negotiating with while you eat it — which is why you can follow one for months and still not feel free.
It moves at your pace, not a clinic’s
Nobody discharges you when the funding runs out. Work a phase until it holds — three months instead of one changes nothing except that it works.
It was written by people who had it
Not observed, had. These are the exercises we each did badly and privately for years, written down properly so you do not have to invent them.
It never measures your body
No weight, no calories, no photographs. Progress is how much of the day is yours.
“Everyone kept telling me I looked well.”
I was discharged at a normal weight and everyone treated that as the end of it. I was still weighing oats at six in the morning and could not say so to anyone, because on paper I was better. What this gave me first was language for what I was still doing.
Kara
• Eating without arithmetic
• Wanting things again
• Quieter days
“I had not called it anything in nine years.”
I stopped calling it an eating disorder around twenty-two, because I was functioning and nobody was worried. I still knew the calorie count of everything I ate. The rule inventory was the first time I saw it as a system rather than as my personality.
Derek
• Discharged years ago
• Still counting
• Not any more
“I thought I had the opposite problem.”
I came for help with bingeing and spent the first month writing down rules I did not know I had. Nobody had told me the nights were built in the mornings.
Shanna
• The day, not the night
• Eating earlier
• Stopped starting over
The whole thing, the day you start.
Written material and exercises, in a browser, behind a login. Nothing to install, and no number about your body anywhere in it.
Help exists for the middle. Nothing exists for the ends.
Weight is what treatment can measure, so weight is what gets treated. Before you qualify, and after the chart closes, you are on your own with a rule system that never went anywhere.
You know something is wrong. You do not meet the criteria, and every door asks how bad it is.
Admission, insurance, intensive care, a team. The only stretch anyone builds for.
Weight restored, coverage ended. The rules are still running and there is nothing left to walk into.
Overcome is written for the first and the last, because the middle is the only part anyone built for.
Therapy is one kind of help. It should not be the only one.
It works, and for many people it is the right thing. But it runs $150 to $300 an hour, the waiting lists are months, and it asks you to say all of it out loud before you are ready to.
Plenty of people are not in therapy and will not be this year — money, access, timing, readiness. The real choice is not therapy or this. It is this, or nothing.
If you can get therapy and you want it, get it. This runs alongside it perfectly well.
Who this is for, and who it is not.
We would rather turn you away here than take your money and have you find out later. Each program page sets out its own criteria in more detail.
Overcome may be appropriate if you
- Are 18 or older
- Are medically stable, and cleared by a physician if there is any doubt
- Have already decided you want to recover
- Want structured, non-clinical work on the thinking and the rules
- Understand this is not medical care and does not replace a treatment team
It is not appropriate if you
- Are under 18
- Are medically unstable, or have not been cleared
- Are in crisis, or need care today rather than a program
- Are looking for a meal plan, a diet, or anything about your weight
- Want something to use instead of medical care
If this is an emergency
Overcome is not appropriate for emergency or acute medical needs, and it is not a crisis service.
Fainting, chest pain, a heart that races or skips, severe weakness or confusion — that is an emergency room today, not a program. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
For mental health crisis support in the US, call or text 988, any hour of any day.
Select the best fit.
Priced in full before you start. Overcome does not bill insurance, and we would rather say so here.
