We hire people who have been there.

Every role is remote and paid properly. Most of them ask for something no CV shows: that you have lived this, and that it is far enough behind you to write about without flinching.

Work with us

Working here

This is a small, remote, bootstrapped operation. There is no office and no headcount theatre. Roles are posted when the work exists, and we will tell you honestly where a seat is funded and where we are building a bench.

Everything is written work. If you cannot write clearly about a hard thing without either flinching from it or performing it, this will not suit you, whatever your experience.

Who we hire

Lived experience, well behind you. Several years of stable recovery, not months. This work puts you back inside the material daily, and doing it too early is bad for you and bad for the reader. We ask directly, and we take your answer at face value.

People who can write. Plainly, in specifics, without wellness language or clinical distance. The whole product is sentences. There is nothing else to hide behind.

Clinicians who want to hold a line. We work with dietitians, therapists, and physicians who review material for safety and supervise the coaching team. Paid, part-time, and you never carry a client through us — the job is to keep us out of your scope, not to lend us your licence.

How to apply

Email careers@joinovercome.com with the role in the subject line and something you have written. Not a CV first — a piece of writing. Two pages is plenty. It does not have to be about eating disorders, and it should not be written for us.

We read everything and we reply to everyone, though not quickly. If a role closes while you are waiting, we will say so rather than let it go quiet.

What we value

Four things, and we hire against them.

Not a poster in an office we do not have. These are the actual filters, and each one rules somebody out.

Write plainly or not at all

No wellness language, no clinical distance, no euphemism. The entire product is sentences, so an unclear sentence is a defect rather than a style choice.

Scope is not a formality

We do not diagnose, prescribe, plan meals, or drift toward it because a member asked. Anyone here can stop a piece of work by saying it crossed the line.

Your recovery outranks the job

This work puts you back inside the material daily. If it starts costing you something, stepping back is the correct call and it is written into the offer, not just said warmly at interview.

Say the unflattering part

We publish what we cannot claim, tell people when this is not for them, and take no referral fees. If you would find that frustrating to work under, you would find this frustrating.

Open roles

26 roles, all remote.

Contract and part-time seats outnumber full-time ones, deliberately — most of this work is better done by someone with a life outside it. If nothing fits and you think you should be here anyway, write and say so.

Program & content

Senior Program Writer — Anorexia Track

Own whole phases of the anorexia program end to end: the argument, the exercises, the sentences. You will be writing about restriction daily, which is why we ask for years of distance from it rather than months.

Full-timeRemoteLived experience required
Apply

Program Writer — Binge Eating Track

The binge program is younger and thinner than the anorexia one. This role fills it out: the evening spiral, the restrict-binge loop, the shame that follows and keeps it running.

ContractRemoteLived experience required
Apply

Exercise & Worksheet Designer

Turn the written material into things a person actually does on a Tuesday night. Structured, specific, and never asking anyone to record a number about their body.

ContractRemotePart-time hours
Apply

Editor, Recovery Content

Line-edit everything before it ships. You are the last person between a careless sentence and someone reading it at their worst. Ruthless about euphemism and about drama.

Part-timeRemote
Apply

Narrator, Audio Modules

Record the program as audio for members who cannot face reading it. Warm, unhurried, no therapeutic voice.

ContractRemoteProject-based
Apply

Translation Lead — Spanish Edition

Not a literal translation. Rewriting the program so it lands in Spanish, with a translator's judgement about what has to change to stay true.

ContractRemoteBilingual

Coaching

Recovery Coach — Anorexia Track

Two sessions a month with members on the coaching tier. Coaching, not therapy, inside a defined scope, with clinical supervision and a clear escalation path when someone needs more than we offer.

Part-timeRemoteSupervisedLived experience required
Apply

Recovery Coach — Binge Eating Track

The same role on the other side of the spectrum. If your own recovery was from restriction only, this is not the seat — the binge track needs someone who has lived that specific loop.

Part-timeRemoteSupervisedLived experience required
Apply

Scope & Escalation Reviewer (Licensed Clinician)

Hold the scope line for the coaching team and review escalations. Licensed as a therapist, psychologist or counsellor, with eating disorder experience.

Part-timeRemoteLicence required
Apply

Coach Training & Quality Lead

Build the training every coach goes through, then audit sessions against it. This is how we keep coaching from quietly becoming therapy.

ContractRemote
Apply

Clinical review & safety

Registered Dietitian, Content Reviewer

Read every module before it ships and flag anything that strays into meal planning or nutrition prescription. You will never see a client through us — the job is to keep us out of your scope.

ContractRemoteRD/RDN required
Apply

Clinical Safety Reviewer, Eating Disorders

Review material for risk: anything that could be read as instructional, competitive, or as a reason to delay medical care. You have veto power and we expect you to use it.

ContractRemoteLicence required
Apply

Medical Advisor

A physician with eating disorder experience to advise on medical-stability language, red-flag criteria, and when the honest answer on the page is “see a doctor first.”

AdvisoryRemoteMD/DO
Apply

Safeguarding & Escalation Lead

Own what happens when a member discloses something that needs more than a program. Write the protocol, train the team on it, and answer the safety inbox.

Part-timeRemote
Apply

Engineering & product

Full-Stack Engineer

The member platform: accounts, delivery, billing, and the parts of it that must never leak. Small stack, few dependencies, no interest in rewriting it every year.

Full-timeRemote
Apply

Front-End Engineer, Web

Own the marketing site and the reading experience inside the program. Fast pages, no framework tax, and typography that someone can sit with for an hour.

ContractRemote
Apply

Product Designer

Design a product that a person opens when they feel awful. No streaks, no badges, nothing that punishes a gap, and no number anywhere on the screen.

ContractRemote
Apply

Data Analyst, Outcomes

Measure whether this works, honestly, and tell us when it does not. You will help decide what we are allowed to claim in public.

Part-timeRemote
Apply

Privacy & Security Engineer

People tell this product things they have told nobody. Own the threat model, the retention policy, and the answer to “who could ever see this?”

ContractRemote
Apply

Member support & operations

Member Support Specialist

Answer the inbox as a person. Fix accounts, process refunds without a retention script, and know exactly when to hand something to the safety lead.

Full-timeRemote
Apply

Operations Manager

Keep a small remote company running: contractors, tooling, vendors, and the unglamorous things nobody else owns.

Full-timeRemote
Apply

Finance & Billing Associate

Reconciliation, refunds, contractor payments, and clean books. Part-time and precise.

Part-timeRemote
Apply

Growth & partnerships

Lifecycle & Email Writer

The emails a member gets across eight to twelve months. They have to be useful on a bad week and never guilt anyone for going quiet.

ContractRemote
Apply

Community & Social Lead

Write for people who are not ready to tell anyone. No before-and-afters, no bodies, no numbers — which rules out most of what works on those platforms, and that is the job.

Part-timeRemote
Apply

Partnerships Lead — Clinicians & Treatment Centres

Build relationships with providers who want something for the patient on their waiting list. No referral fees in either direction, ever, which makes this a harder and more honest sell.

Full-timeRemote
Apply

SEO & Content Strategist

Get the free material in front of the person searching at 2am. Everything published has to be true, useful, and safe for someone in a bad state to read.

What we offer

Remote, permanently

No office, no relocation, no hybrid schedule waiting to be announced. Work from wherever you are, in whatever hours suit the work.

Paid properly, in full

Rates are set before we interview and we do not negotiate people down. Contractors are paid on 14-day terms, not 60.

Supervision, if you are client-facing

Every coach works to a written scope and a written escalation path, and nobody carries a difficult conversation alone.

Your recovery comes first

If this work starts costing you something, we would rather you step back than push through it. That is said in the offer letter, not just on a careers page.

A note on hiring honestly.

Overcome is an equal opportunity employer. We do not screen on where you went to school, whether you have worked in this field before, or how continuous your employment history looks — a gap is often the most relevant thing on the page here.

We do not ask about your weight, your diagnosis, your treatment history, or any number attached to your body, at any stage of hiring. If an interviewer ever does, that is a mistake and we want to know: safety@joinovercome.com.

How to apply

Send writing, not a CV.

Two pages is plenty. It does not have to be about eating disorders, and it should not be written for us. Put the role in the subject line.
