Guided · $497 a month

The program, plus a person.

Two sessions a month with somebody who had this and came out of it. Non-clinical coaching inside a written scope — not therapy, and never presented as it. This page is long on purpose: at $497 a month you should know exactly what you are buying before you buy it.

What you get

What is actually included.

Two 60-minute sessions a month

Video or voice, booked when it suits you. Practical, structured around where you are in the phase.

Messaging between sessions

Answered within two business days. Not live chat, not monitored overnight or at weekends.

The complete program

Everything in the $297 tier is included — every phase, every exercise, released as you go.

Places are limited each month, because a guide can hold a small number of people properly and a large number badly.

The guides

Who you would actually work with.

Every guide had an eating disorder and is several years clear of it. Not therapists, not clinicians, and they will tell you that themselves in the first session.

[Guide name]

Overcome Anorexia™ · [n] years clear

Two or three plain sentences in her own words: what it looked like, how long recovery took, and what she does outside this.

[Guide name]

Overcome Binge Eating™ · [n] years clear

Two or three plain sentences. Say what she is like to work with, not what she is qualified in.

Overcome Anorexia™ · [n] years clear

Two or three plain sentences. Worth including the thing she is most direct about.

Before you spend $497

Everything worth asking first.

Who will I work with?

A guide matched to your program. Guides on the anorexia track had anorexia; guides on the binge track lived that specific cycle. We do not hand a restriction-only guide a binge-track member.

You are told who your guide is before your first session, along with how long they have been clear of it and what they do outside this.

What are their qualifications?

Several years of stable recovery — years, not months — and training in this method. That is the qualification, and we are not going to dress it up as more than it is.

Guides are not therapists, dietitians or clinicians. If you want a licensed professional, you want a therapist, and we will say so. What a guide has is the specific experience of having been where you are and come out, plus training in the material you are working through.

What happens during a session?

Fifty to sixty minutes, twice a month, by video or voice. You go through where you are in the phase, what you avoided, and what the next uncomfortable thing is.

It is practical rather than exploratory. A guide will not take you into your childhood, your relationships or your trauma — not because those do not matter, but because that is a therapist’s work and doing it badly is worse than not doing it.

What can a guide help with?

Getting unstuck on a phase. Deciding which rule to test next and how. Talking through what happened when you tested one. Being honest with somebody about a week you would otherwise not mention. Working out how to tell a partner or a parent what you are doing.

And the ordinary, useful thing: somebody who expects to hear from you in a fortnight.

What can a guide not help with?

Anything clinical. A guide cannot assess you, diagnose you, interpret bloodwork or symptoms, advise on medication, tell you whether to enter or leave treatment, plan meals, or give any advice about your weight.

They also cannot monitor you between sessions, and they are not a crisis service.

Is this therapy?

No. It is non-clinical coaching inside a written scope. It is not psychotherapy, counselling or treatment, no therapeutic relationship is formed, and nothing said in a session is clinical advice.

If you have a therapist, Guided runs alongside them. If your therapist asks you to stop, stop.

How does messaging between sessions work?

You can send your guide messages between calls and they will reply within two business days, Monday to Friday. It is not live chat and it is not monitored overnight or at weekends.

Messages are for the work — a stuck exercise, a decision about the next rule. If you write something that suggests you need clinical help, your guide will say so and point you to it rather than trying to handle it.

What happens if I am struggling medically?

Your guide stops the coaching conversation and says so plainly. They will tell you what the signs mean, give you the relevant numbers, and ask you to see a doctor. They will not attempt to assess or manage it, because they are not qualified to.

You can come back to the program afterwards. It will still be here, and stepping away from it to get medical care is the right decision, not a failure.

Can I change guides?

Yes, and you do not have to give a reason. Email support@joinovercome.com and we will move you. Nobody will ask you to explain it to the guide you are leaving.

How long do people generally stay?

Most people who add Guided use it for three to six months, usually across a phase they have stalled on, and then continue on the self-administered tier.

It is a monthly subscription with no minimum term. Using it for two months and stopping is a completely normal way to use it, and it is cheaper than the alternative.

What happens at intake?

A short written intake before your first session: which program you are on, where you are in it, what you want out of the next three months, and a small number of safety questions.

The safety questions exist to catch the situations where coaching is the wrong answer. If your answers suggest you need medical care first, we will tell you, refund you, and point you somewhere better. That happens, and it is not a rejection.

Where this sits

Guided is not clinical care and not a crisis service. Your guide cannot assess or treat you. If you are medically unstable or in crisis, that needs a doctor today — call 911 if you are in immediate danger, or call or text 988 for crisis support in the US. Our full scope, escalation procedure and reviewer arrangements are set out on the standards page.
